Trump Making Comeback On Television News
Feature Charticle
Television news channels CNN, MSNBC and Fox News showered Donald Trump with coverage almost from the day of his presidential candidacy announcement, reaching a peak in Nov. 2016 in which he was mentioned in almost a quarter of the airtime that month, as seen in the timeline below using data from the Internet Archive's Television News Archive processed by the GDELT Project. Mentions fell to around half in the months after his inauguration, averaging around 10-15% of the monthly airtime on the three stations until COVID-19 finally displaced him in March and April 2020. However, beginning in May 2020 he has surged back in mentions as the three channels increasingly center their pandemic coverage around him.
