Search Interest In "Hate Speech" Rises In Trump Era

Google web searches in the US for the topic of “hate speech” have more than nearly doubled since the election of Donald Trump in Nov. 2016. Interestingly, globally they doubled almost overnight in Jan. 2013, though it isn’t clear if this could be a definitional issue with Google Trends’ definition of the topic “hate speech” or what precisely would have driven such a global trend strong enough to be visible at the scale of all countries.
