The “climate crisis” has been surging steadily upwards in global media attention since mid-2018, but shifting global attention to Covid-19 in late January abruptly halted this rally, with another sharp downturn in coverage since early March, bottoming out in Mid-March to its lowest levels since the start of the data in Jan. 2017, though coverage seems to be slowly trending back up, as seen in the timeline below from the GDELT Project.
