Global news coverage of Covid-19 began in earnest around January 18, accelerating February 21 and surging in early March as it caused a global lockdown, peaking March 22 and has steadily declined since. At its peak, Covid-19 was mentioned in more than half of all worldwide news coverage, though it has declined linearly to just over a quarter of news coverage today.
